Android 3.0, WP7 Will Fight Face to Face in Q4 of This Year

Both Android 3.0 and Microsoft Windows Phone 7 will arrive in the forth quarter of this year, and then, their face-to-face fighting will begin.

Gaurav Jain, Android product manager, expressed before, that Android 3.0 will be issued in the forth quarter. Meanwhile, smartphones based on Google Android 3.0 and those running Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 system will also be confronted with each other in the fourth quarter.

That means a face-to-face war between them will fire. The two types of phones both use no less than 1GHz processor, and are equipped with 3.5-inch or lager screen.

Early in February of this year, Microsoft had released Windows phone 7 with new features, which means the beginning of Microsoft's challenge over smartphone market.

In contrast, Windows Phone 7 intelligent machine is facing a greater competitive pressures. Because in the aspect of phone system, Android (Android sdk recommended) has occupied a considerable share in the global market.

And, in the industry, Google's Android has been considered as the most direct competitor for Apple's iPhone in the field of mobile internet (smart phone platform and the market).


In addition to Apple, RIM and Nokia, many mobile phone manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and Taiwan's HTC, Acer, Asus, will launch both Android 3.0 and Windows Phone 7 smartphones. By the way, Motorola Droid 2, carrying Android 2.2, will go public on August 12.

But the shipments of mobile phones of the two types should be allocated according to the market conditions.
